How it works

Arranged quickly, step by step

You always start through a participating installer. From their link to your construction deposit: what happens, what you do, what we do and how long it takes. You can stop at any time before the engagement confirmation, at no cost.

Your data · ± 10 minutes
01

You receive a link from your installer

groenbudget only works with participating sustainability partners. Your installer sends you a personal link to your application, with your quote already filled in. You give consent, nothing more. We immediately check whether your home and mortgage qualify: ownership, registration and energy label.

  • No forms: your quote is already there
  • You know right away whether it's possible
  • You can stop at any time, free of charge
02

Log in once with DigiD

Through Ockto you log in with the government itself: income, tax data, pension and student debt arrive in one go. We only see the result.

  • Nothing to retype: your data comes from the source
  • Your mortgage balance comes from your tax data
  • Applying with a partner? They log in too
03

Does everything look right?

Mortgage balance, interest rate and repayment type are ready. You confirm or correct. Every value carries its origin, so you can see where it came from.

  • Confirm instead of fill in
  • Verified, indicative or to confirm: always visible
  • Correct with a single tap
Configure · instant
04

Your increase, monthly payment and label jump

Based on your installer's quote. Want to adjust something or add a product? You can; everything recalculates instantly and nothing costs extra.

  • Repay over 30 years (lowest monthly payment) or 15 years
  • Subsidy stays visible but is not deducted
  • Savings and payback time as an indication
Check · same day
05

A short test, and the outcome

groenbudget does not give advice: you arrange the increase yourself. That is why we first use a short test to check whether you have enough knowledge and experience to do so; this is required by law. Then the calculation module checks whether the increase fits within the legal standards.

  • For each check you see your value, the limit and the difference
  • Something not right? Ask for a human review, free of charge
  • This route doesn't suit you? You can get advice from De Hollandse Rekenkamer
Engagement · same day
06

Sign the engagement confirmation

This is where we get to work for you. The mediation fee of €775 is financed within your mortgage. If you stop after this yourself, a cancellation fee of €300 applies; this is in the terms.

  • Sign digitally
  • Nothing to pay during the application
  • Everything lives in your own file
Afterwards · a few weeks
07

We arrange the valuation and the lender

A desktop valuation (usually within four working hours), a check of your file and the application with your lender. You follow everything on one page and sign the binding offer online.

  • Valuation report included
  • An email at every step
  • Lender documents are in Dutch; we walk you through them
08

Your budget is ready

After completion the money sits in a construction deposit (bouwdepot). Your installer does the work and you submit the invoices online.

  • Claim per invoice
  • Paid directly to the installer
  • Overview of what's left in the deposit
09

New label, lower energy bill

After the work, your new energy label is registered; that's included. You receive any subsidy yourself and can use it to repay extra.

  • Label registration by a certified assessor
  • You apply for the subsidy yourself, we help
  • Done: your home is more efficient and often worth more
If it doesn't fit

Sometimes it's not possible, or not yet

For example when there's a seizure on the property, the owner doesn't match, or there isn't enough room in your mortgage. You'll see that right after the check, with an explanation and at no cost. If this route doesn't suit your situation, for example with self-employed income, you can continue with advice from De Hollandse Rekenkamer, with your consent.
