What it is

Keeping the heat in at windows and doors

Single or old double glazing lets a lot of heat through. HR++ and triple glazing have a coating and a gas filling between the panes, so much less heat escapes. If you also replace the frames or doors, choose well-insulating ones: the lower the U-value, the better they insulate.

Good to know

Before you start

New frames and doors count as an energy-saving measure when they are fitted together with HR++ or triple glazing.
Check the U-value in the quote: the lower it is, the better the glass or frame insulates.
Better glazing makes your home more airtight. Make sure there's good ventilation to prevent damp.
Listed buildings and protected areas often have rules for window frames. Check with your municipality.

Financing

How to finance it with groenbudget

This measure improves your energy label. That's why your lender may lend more for it than for a regular renovation: you get extra borrowing capacity on top of your regular capacity.

We don't deduct the ISDE subsidy from your increase: you finance the full amount of your quote. You receive the subsidy after the work and can use it to repay extra, usually penalty-free.

Questions about this measure

HR++ or triple glazing?

Triple glazing insulates even better, but it's heavier and more expensive and doesn't fit every frame. HR++ is a good choice for many homes. Your installer checks what fits your frames.

Can I finance only new frames?

Frames and doors count as an energy-saving measure when they're fitted together with HR++ or triple glazing. With new frames that's usually already in the quote.

Will I get a subsidy?

ISDE subsidy is possible for HR++ and triple glazing, and for insulating panels and doors fitted together with the glazing. The conditions are on the RVO website. You apply yourself and receive it after the work.
